Saint Eustratios
AN ISLAND SWEET AS HONEY
Remote and sparsely populated, Saint Eustratios produces exceptional products, but the limited quantities mean that to taste them you have to travel there. But trust us, it’s more than worth it!
Better known as a place of exile, this volcanic island is extremely fertile from the hilltops down to the seabed, as it contributes to primary production not only through livestock farming and agriculture, but also through fishing and cheesemaking. Particularly impressive is the oak forest in the northeastern part of the island, while the best-known agri-food product of Ai Stratis is the fine “white honey” with its unique flavor from chaste tree blossoms.
