Fourni
Agios Ioannis Thermastis
Agios Ioannis Thermastis is a small, picturesque settlement at the southern tip of Fourni’s main island, opposite the islets of Strongylo and Makronisi, at an elevation of about 18–30 meters. The scattered houses are built amphitheatrically on the slopes, with sea views, and 240 steps lead to the idyllic cove of Agios Ioannis. In the area are the renovated church of Agios Ioannis Thermastis and the beaches “Kasidi,” “Vlychada,” and “Vitsilia.” The settlement has a small harbor for boats and craft, while on 28 August the last festival of summer is held in memory of Saint John Thermastis, with a festal service at the chapel the next day.
