Chios Municipal Art Gallery

The Chios Municipal Gallery began construction in 1939 and was completed in 1954 by the renowned architect Ioannis Despotopoulos. Until the mid-1970s the building functioned as Municipal Baths, and in 1984, under Mayor Yiannis Boubaris, it was converted into a gallery. In addition to the Diomataris and Mytarakis collections on permanent display, the Gallery has been enriched with works by contemporary Chian painters. Beyond mounting art exhibitions, it actively collaborates with other cultural institutions, promoting varied artistic events and making it a hub of artistic creation and contribution for the island.
