Church of Saint George

The Church of Agios Georgios of Oinousses was the island’s first parish church. It was built in 1750. Before the 1949 earthquake it was a small church with wall paintings and a wooden roof. After its destruction, it was restored by the children of shipowner Anastasis Pateras.
