The Agiasmata of Chios are famed for their thermal baths and hydrotherapies. The thermal waters of the springs at Agiasmata are also used to extract plant essences and mastic oil for producing mastic‑based cosmetics. With a temperature of 57.5°C, the spring is indicated for various conditions, such as degenerative arthropathies, rheumatic diseases, spondyloarthritides, lumbago, sciatica, post‑traumatic deformities and ankyloses, peripheral neuritides (neuralgias, myalgias), tendinitis, chronic gynecological ailments, angiopathies, and endocrine disorders. The hot springs bubble up near the beach and see significant traffic in summer (July–October). Agiasmata’s water is hyperthermal, mineral, hypertonic, and mildly radioactive.
