Samos has 40 waymarked hiking routes, ideal for exploring and enjoying the landscape. It is a destination suitable for hiking, mountaineering and climbing, as the island’s terrain shows great variety with mountainous features. At the western tip towers Mount Kerkis (1,433 m), while in the central and eastern parts stretches the Ampelos range with its highest peak, Prophet Elias (1,153 m).
