Karkinagri
The settlement of Karkinagri lies in southwest Ikaria, in a quiet seaside fishing harbor between sheer mountain slopes and crystal-clear waters. Access is by road via Armenistis or by sea with a caique from Agios Kirykos and Manganitis. At the western edge of the village stands the lighthouse at Cape Papa, with enchanting sea views—an ideal spot for hiking and landscape observation. The village offers tourist amenities such as rooms to let, tavernas, and cafés, while visitors can also take part in activities like sailing and paragliding. Every year, on 26 July, the traditional festival is held in the square of the Church of Saint Paraskevi, the village’s patron. Karkinagri combines natural beauty, tradition, and a peaceful stay, making it a significant point of interest on Ikaria.
