Keramidou
Keramidou Beach is the largest and most popular on Thymaina, in a protected cove that resembles a lake thanks to the islet of Kisiria opposite and protection from northerlies. The beach’s name comes from a ship full of roof tiles that wrecked in the cove in the 18th century. The sandy shore exceeds 100 meters, while large tamarisks provide natural shade and the moored fishing boats enhance the area’s charm. The taverna with tables right on the water serves coffee, homemade cheese pies, ice creams, fresh fish, local goat, and home-cooked dishes. Access is either from the two boat piers or via the paved road 2 km from the settlement of Thymaina, while the walk takes about 20 minutes. From Fourni, visitors are ferried daily by the local water taxi “Agios Nikolaos.”
