Lemnos History and Nautical Tradition Information Center, Moudros
The Mudros History and Naval Tradition Information Center presents the early 20th-century naval history in a contemporary, vivid way, highlighting events that shaped the course of the region and of Greece. It is housed in the renovated building of the old Mudros school, built in the late 19th century, featuring neoclassical elements with dressed cornerstones and stone. Through exhibits, documents, visual materials, audiovisual screenings, and interactive applications, visitors discover Mudros’ decisive role in the Balkan Wars and the Gallipoli campaign. The Center brings to the fore the locale’s close connection with the ANZAC expeditionary force, offering an experience that connects past and present. It also serves as a point of reference for visitors and as a bridge to other cultural facilities on Lemnos, as well as to the descendants of veterans who return each year.
