Folklore Museum of the Agiasos Reading Society

The Folklore Museum of the Agiasos Reading Society opened in 1988 and stands beside the Library and the Cinema-Theatre, housed in a traditional Agiasos building. After its 2009–2010 renovation, the museum was enriched with new exhibits. The ground floor hosts Stratis Tzinis’ Private Folklore Collection of 870 objects, such as craft and folk-art tools, and collections of blacksmithing, carpentry and saddlery. Another room displays old weaving tools. Upstairs, spaces recreate a traditional Agiasos house, while local costumes, ceramics, sculptures and works by Lesvian painters are exhibited, highlighting Agiasos’ rich cultural heritage.
