Simaia (Papas) Peak

The summit Simaia, also called Papas, is the highest point on Thymaina, at about 470 meters, dominating the island’s central section and offering panoramic views of the Fournoi group and the eastern Aegean. Its geology consists of schist at lower elevations and limestone higher up, shaping a distinctive natural landscape. Access is via signposted hiking trails starting from Thymaina’s main settlement and ending on the ridge, making the summit a point of interest for visitors wishing to explore the island’s mountainous relief.
