Lemnos
Livadokhori
Livadochori lies in the most central part of Lemnos, exactly where the roads from Myrina and Kontias meet on the way to the island’s eastern section. Its name derives from the extensive, flat plain surrounding it. According to tradition, the original settlement was further west, between the chapels of Agios Ioannis and Agios Vasileios, and was called Kefalochori. During a cholera epidemic, the inhabitants were forced to abandon that location and re-establish the village at its current site.
