Nealia

Nealia Beach, east of the village of Therma, is one of Ikaria’s quietest and most authentic spots. Nestled in a sheltered cove and surrounded by verdant hills, it offers a natural setting ideal for relaxation and seclusion. The shore combines sand and fine pebbles, and its clear blue-green waters are ideal for swimming or snorkeling. Ruins of Ikaria’s ancient thermal baths survive in the area, and a lovely path links Therma with Loumakia and Nealia, making the beach a favorite for hikers as well. It is not organized, which preserves its peaceful, natural character, and it is an excellent choice for those who want to avoid the strong northerly winds and enjoy the calm of the Ikarian landscape. Access is via a dirt road of about 1 kilometer and then on foot.
