Nas
Nas Beach, on north Ikaria near Armenistis, is a small but spectacular sandy-and-pebble beach where the Chalaris River flows into the sea through the gorge of the same name. The area combines dense vegetation, waterfalls, and natural springs, creating a magical landscape. On the beach are the foundations of the ancient temple of the goddess Artemis, recalling the area’s historical importance. The waters are deep with strong currents, especially in northerly winds, making the beach more dangerous for swimming. Even so, the sunset at Nas, the view of the gorge, and the nearby tavernas and lodgings make it ideal for peaceful, picturesque moments close to nature.
