Oinousses Cultural Centre "G.Chr. Lemos"

The Oinousses Cultural Center “G. Chr. Lemos” stands beside the Cathedral of Agios Nikolaos and hosts lectures, events and conferences. The building that now houses the island’s Cultural Center was Oinousses’ first Primary School, built in 1906. It is a two-story building with a mezzanine and many neoclassical elements, such as stone surrounds with arched lintels at the main entrances. After 80 years, in 1986, Mayor Antonis Sp. Lemos restored it with his donation. In 1994, improvements and equipment were funded by the “LEON LEMOS” Foundation. Today it is one of the island’s best-known historic buildings, whose activities are overseen by the Municipality of Oinousses.
