Sarantaskaliotissa Chasm Cave & Cave of Pythagoras
The Glyfades Wetland lies near Samos’s southeastern coast, a few kilometers west of Pythagoreio, and is a small but particularly important freshwater wetland. The area includes two lakes—Megali and Mikri Glyfada—and has been designated protected due to its great ecological value. The wetland serves as a refuge for many migratory birds, which find food and shelter during their movements, and it hosts notable amphibian and reptile species. Its natural beauty, combined with biodiversity and easy access, makes the Glyfades Wetland an important destination for environmental education, birdwatching and low‑impact recreation.
