Kampion Gorge

The Kambia Gorge, one of Chios’s most impressive natural landscapes, begins just outside the mountain village of Kampia and ends at the sea. The route follows a descending path through dense vegetation of pines, plane trees, and wild roses, with the sound of waterfalls accompanying you throughout. Small stone bridges cross the river, while views of the sheer cliffs with the Castle of Orias and the chapel of Agia Paraskevi are unique. At the end of the trail, the path meets a small dam and reaches the river’s mouth, where a wetland forms. It is an easy, enchanting hike that combines water, rock, and lush vegetation, offering a complete nature‑lover’s exploration in northern Chios.
