Faros
Faros Beach is on the east side of Ikaria, just 11 kilometers from Agios Kirykos and close to the island’s airport. It is the largest and busiest beach in the south, with fine pebbles, sand, and blue-green waters that deepen gradually. It is fully organized with umbrellas, sun loungers, tamarisk trees for natural shade, beach bars, a beach-volley court, and equipment for water sports such as canoeing and surfing, and it is ideal for diving. The beach offers superb views toward Fourni, Thymaina, and Samos, and the distinctive jetty shelters small caiques. Cafés, tavernas, and many lodgings are in the area, making Faros suitable for families, couples, youths, and older visitors alike. Access is easy by private vehicle, as the beach is just a few meters from the settlement’s parking area.
