Academy of Commercial Shipping at Oinousses

The Merchant Marine Academy of Oinousses (A.E.N.) is among Greece’s oldest merchant marine academies, operating continuously since 1965. Many young people choose it to study the seafaring profession, recognizing the high standard of education and administrative support provided to students. Each year it hosts about 120 – 160 cadets. The teaching staff consists of three Class A masters, one English-language instructor, one physics–mathematics teacher and one IT instructor. The school also has three ship-bridge simulators, four radio-communications console simulators, a seamanship lab, a computer lab, a chart room and four classrooms. There are also dormitories for cadets (males only, 4 - 6 persons), a library and a recreation room. Consequently, the A.E.N. Deck Officers Academy of Oinousses is a dynamic academy renowned for the quality of its maritime education.
