Agia Fotini (Agia Fotia)
Agia Fotini (or Agia Fotia, as locals call it) is a picturesque seaside settlement, spread amphitheatrically with panoramic views of the Aegean and the Asia Minor coast. About 11 kilometers southeast of Chios town, it is famed for its superb beach, one of the island’s most popular and crowded. With fine pebbles and crystal‑clear waters, it attracts throngs of visitors and is a favorite youth haunt in summer. The settlement has developed tourist infrastructure—cafés, tavernas, restaurants, small shops, and visitor services—while retaining its hospitable, laid‑back character. Its name comes from the Church of Agia Fotini that dominates the area and lent its name to both the beach and the settlement.
