Technical High School of Moudros
In the 1920s–1930s, Lemnos found itself at the heart of the refugee crisis following the Asia Minor Catastrophe of 1922. Thousands of refugees settled on the island, significantly increasing its population and leading to the creation of new schools and the appointment of teachers under the Lemnos Educational District. At the same time, Lemnians of the diaspora and the Pan-Lemnian Fund for Educational Welfare continued to support education with financial grants. A major project of this period was the construction of the large school complex at Moudros (1928–1932), with six classrooms and spacious auxiliary areas to meet the increased needs of students. The building was requisitioned by the Germans during the Occupation but reopened as a school until 1962. It later housed the Lower Technical School and, since 1986, has been home to the Moudros Technical Vocational Lyceum.
