Wildlife Observation

On Psara, beekeeping is one of the most authentic experiences a visitor can enjoy as part of agritourism. Visitors have the chance to observe the honey-production process up close, learn about the island’s distinctive melliferous plants, and see how bees collect nectar and turn it into pure, aromatic honey. Observation takes place safely, under the guidance of experienced beekeepers who share knowledge about the bee’s life cycle, traditional hive care and the bee’s importance to the ecosystem. The experience concludes with a tasting of local honey-based products, thus connecting knowledge with enjoyment and highlighting the close bond of beekeeping with the tradition and gastronomy of Psara.
