  • 4–5 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp black raisins
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Περιγραφή

Felopita, or “feloudia,” is an old recipe popular on Lemnos. It is made with yellow pumpkin, cut into slices and baked in the oven. In the Lemnos dialect, a slice is called “feli,” hence the name “felopita.” In earlier times, people would take it with them to the fields and eat it after their snack. Back then, they used molasses, because they did not have sugar. It was a quick and simple sweet.

Implementation

Spread the olive oil over a baking pan that will just fit the pumpkin slices. Dust the slices one by one with flour and arrange them in the pan, very close to each other, without leaving any gaps. Sprinkle the pumpkin slices with the sugar, cinnamon and raisins. Bake in a preheated oven at 170°C with the fan on, for 40–45 minutes, until the felopita is golden brown.
